Janica finished her bachelor’s from Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines, graduating in European Studies, focusing on International Relations and Political Science. She attained her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seton Hall University. She completed pre- and post-graduate training from Family Service League and trained under live supervision in Structural Family Therapy. Her training also included Gestalt Therapy, which weighs in the incorporation of the present moment into the therapeutic process.

Janica has experience working with diverse communities and populations. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She integrates varying theories that best fit each client, working into their needs and goals. Janica has worked with clients presenting problems of depression, anxiety, ADHD, addiction, couples/marital counseling, family counseling, grief/loss, trauma in adults and children, single-parent and divorced families, and counseling for LGBTQ. Janica is also trilingual and can speak fluent Tagalog and Bisaya.

Janica is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Janica recently completed her training in Emotionally Focus Therapy (EFT) and will be integrating it in her work with couples and families. Janica also attended workshops for Action Methods under Paula Ochs and has since then practiced in maximizing its potential in certain presenting problems. She completed a Naloxone (NARCAN) training while working with and co-facilitating substance abuse groups in 2019.
