Paula received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education, as well as her Master’s of Social Work from Monmouth University.

Having worked at intensive outpatient levels of care, Paula is familiar with the sensitive issues and challenges associated with depression, anxiety, self-harm, substance abuse and/or traumatic history.

Paula utilizes an eclectic approach to counseling, drawing on a variety of theoretical frameworks and therapeutic techniques to assist clients in overcoming barriers. Through the utilization of CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness, clients are supported in the pursuit of their individual needs.

Paula believes that therapy is a mutual endeavor in which client and therapists work together to explore healthy ways of coping with life stressors, environmental influences, and relationships that impact functioning and well-being. Identifying barriers and unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that inhibit such intuition is a primary focus of Paula’s work with clients.

Paula implements a strengths-based approach with her clients and aligns with the belief that each individual has an innate capacity for growth and healing. Cultivating a compassionate and empathetic therapeutic environment for clients is paramount. Paula has experience working with adolescents and adults of all genders, religions, sexual orientations and cultural identities.
