  1. Why did you choose to become a therapist?

I was very fortunate-when I was in high school, I took one psychology class and was hooked. I love the field of psychology and am so lucky to love what I do for a living.

  1. What do you love most about being a therapist?

Each day I have the opportunity to help people – and I love that! What I love most is seeing the progress my clients make every week.

  1. What improvements have you seen with your clients in general?

Many of my clients have seen improvements in their relationships with others, ability to cope with stressors using the coping skills they learned in therapy, and many have said their negative mood symptoms don’t last as long and are not as intense as before.  My clients have also been able to do a lot of introspective work to uncover issues from their past that affect their current behavior.

  1. How would you describe your personality?

I am flexible, warm, and soft spoken. I feel that I truly have an innate ability to pick up on the emotions and needs of others, helping me to further empathize with my clients’ experiences.

  1. How would you best describe your style, interventions used, area of focus as a therapist:

Really do challenge my clients to make the changes they want to see in themselves. I am trained in EMDR for trauma, help clients find patterns in their behaviors in order to change them, and also provide concrete skills that are practical for use in everyday life.  I specialize mainly in attachment-related trauma, so many other forms of treatment are added to the EMDR protocol to address this including: imaginal nurturing, re-calibration of emotional circuits, Deb Dana’s work on the nervous system and polyvagal theory.

  1. What do you love to do for mindfulness, self-care, or in your free time?

I love to go walking, spend time with my kids, two dogs, and just simply taking time to determine what I need at the present moment.  I would be honored to partake in your journey to uncover your inner clarity.
