Christina graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor’s in Sociology and obtained a Master’s Degree from New York University in Applied Psychology. Throughout her studies, her training included a variety of counseling skills with a primary focus on Mindfulness, Rogerian human-centered & psychodynamic approaches working in a variety of settings including outpatient care centers, intensive in-home counseling, hospitals, community agencies, public schools, private university setting, and private practices.
Christina specializes in working with childhood-based trauma, focusing on family dynamics, relationship to the self and others, treating pathology through talk therapy with an empathic approach and open attitude. She incorporates mindfulness and meditation techniques as well as collaborating with clients to create a personalized treatment plan to achieve therapeutic goals.
Christina recently completed her training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and is widening her focus into Dream Analysis Therapy as they may serve as initial indicators of impending crisis, may represent conflicts, decision-making, and image of the self. She is also expanding her training in Play & Drama Therapy to serve children with anxiety, depression and trauma-related experiences.
