SCHOOL BACKGROUND

Nicole completed her undergraduate education at Georgian Court University and attained a Master’s degree from Monmouth University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She completed her post-graduate training at GenPsych and trained under live-supervision in utilizing various evidence-based practices including CBT and DBT to treat a variety of mental health disorders.

LIST EXPERIENCE

Nicole has experience working with adolescents, adults, and families using various theoretical models and techniques. Nicole draws from diverse theoretical orientations in her clinical work and is experienced working with a broad range of presenting problems, including counseling and substance abuse assessments for individuals and their families, counseling for LGBTQ individuals and their families, counseling for adolescents and adults affected by grief and loss,  counseling for adults affected by domestic violence and/or trauma, as well as children, teens, and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and self-harm.

Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Nicole uses various mindfulness and body-awareness techniques to increase life satisfaction measures and decrease any symptoms of anxiety and depression. She integrates principles of cognitive behavior therapy with various mindfulness techniques to bridge mind and body awareness.

Trainings and Certifications

Nicole attained the title of Nationally Certified Counselor from the NBCC.

Professional Presentations

Nicole has presented research on integrating ecotherapy principles into counseling titled Nature and Counselor Education: Research and Practice. She has presented this research at the ACES conference in Atlanta, GA as well as the Urban Coastal Institute virtual conference.
