Laura has experience working with couples from multiple cultures and practices culturalsensitivity. She has worked with LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, and families who struggle withloss, depression, anxiety, grief, and other related mental health concerns. She has worked withfamilies of differing class and socioeconomic status. She believes in gender affirming care for allher clients and has experience with adolescents who are in the process of transitioning oridentify as transgender. She also has experience with individuals, couples, and families that havesuffered severe trauma and domestic violence (i.e., PTSD, survivors of sexual assault).
Laura's foundation of therapy draws from an integrative approach as she uses EmotionFocused Therapy to identify the attachment patterns and communication cycles couples mayfind themselves stuck in to work toward rekindling a secure connection. For families, she utilizesthe methods of Structural Family Therapy which looks at the boundaries, roles, and how thefamily system organizes themselves in the world. Laura also believes in inclusivity as shemaintains a culturally sensitive framework by practicing culturally responsive care. Culture, identity, and context are never separate from the work - they're central to it so she considershow intersectionality shapes the issues that bring families, individuals, and couples into the roomso that she can aim to understand how she can best be helpful to them.
Laura loves to dedicate her time to being around her friends and family as quality time andconnection are important to her. She enjoys traveling, working out, cooking, hiking, and running. These aspects of Laura's life are vital for her emotional well-being as it helps her to reset andpromote self-reflection.
“The powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?” - John Keating, Dead Poets Society
Working with Robyn during my first KAP journey was something I’ll never forget. From the moment we began, I felt genuinely held—seen, accepted, and safe to just be myself. She didn’t try to fix or analyze; instead, she created a space where I could soften, feel, and explore without fear. Her grounded presence made it possible for me to let go of old defenses and meet myself with more honesty and compassion.
There was no pressure to be anything other than what I was in each moment. She created a holding environment that was steady, compassionate, and deeply attuned.
I’m grateful beyond words for the care, intuition, and integrity she brought to the process. Her support helped me remember that I can trust myself—and that I don’t have to do it all alone.
Forever grateful,
E H
